Pennsylvania Report-June 2007

Well things were a bit quiet this past month. We did do  some outreaching and did get a couple of new people at meetings.  We had a booth at the annual Spring  Fling where we sold hotdogs, chips, and cold drinks. We spoke to and handed out leaflets to a number of people and it was interesting to note that quite a few knew where our meeting place was. We pray that some of therm will do more than just look in the window and decide to come in for a meeting. Hopefully we’ll be able to water some of the seeds that got planted. We made enough money to cover our expenses and little bit over.  All in all it was a good day.

We are contilnuing in prayer for our sister Evelyn and the Stockton family for the Lord to continue doing a great work and to see mighty blessings.

Pennsylvania Report-May 2007

Greetings to all. April was another great month in the Lord. We had our East Coast Camp during Easter weekend and it was excellent as usual. The theme was brotherly love and that was evident for the whole weekend. Our new sister in the Lord Li was able to go to camp and she had a fanstastic weekend. She saw what being Spirit-filled and in fellowship was all about. During the weekend she was in touch with her husband and letting him know about all the good things that were happening. She even saw her daughter get a great healing from a hurt ankle during the weekend. She came back really excited and really wanting to grow in the Lord and be a part of the fellowship. She recently gave her testimony and you could see the joy and excitement in her. I had a chance to sit down and talk to her husband after we got back from camp and he knows that what we are saying is the truth. He hasn’t received the Holy Spirit himself yet but with Li’s enthusiasm and testimony it is only a matter of time.

I have also been in constant contact with Silvanus, the gentleman from Jamaica, who is still quite keen on receiving the Holy Spirt. In one of the last emails I received from him, he asked if I was scared like him when I was seeking for the Holy Spirit, as this was unchartered water for him. It was good that I could share my testimony about coming to the Lord and let him know that we have an excellent pilot in Jesus Christ to guide us. I am still hoping he will be coming up this way in June, so we can get together and hopefully get him baptised and Spirit filled. Will keep you posted.

We are also getting ready for the Spring Fling that is held in Danville the first weekend in May. It is a big street fair that is held in the downtown area and a good outreaching opportunity. We will have a booth selling refreshments and will have the hall open for complimentary tea and coffee. The weather is forecast to be good, so we expecting to talk to a lot of people.

In closing, all the saints here are diligently praying for our sister Evelyn and family in Fresno. We know that we worship a miracle working God and we expect nothing less.

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20, KJV.

Pennsylvania Report-April 2007

Greetings to everyone. Winter has finally left and things are starting to warm up, both naturally and spiritually. We have a new sister in Lord, LI. She is the wife and mother of the family that recently moved to the area from Atlanta, GA. She received the Holy Spirit after a Wednesday night meeting. Before she received, she shared with us that through some circumstances she recognized she really needed to follow the Lord and really wanted the Holy Spirit. It was a real blessing to see the Lord honor that. She is there at the Wednesday and Sunday meetings with her 2 kids, one a 3 month old baby. Her husband is an intern so his schedule doesn’t allow him to get to as many meetings but when he is there we pray with him to receive the Holy Spirit. Li is also planning on coming to East coast camp. Do keep her and her family in prayer as there are needs of provision we are looking for the Lord to meet. I also received an e-mail from someone in Jamaica who seems really searching for the truth and wanting to know more about salvation and being in fellowship with a group that has the book of Acts experience and the power. I was able to write back and tell him what we believe and if he is really searching for the truth, we have have some answers. He said that he was planning on being in the Philadelphia area in June and wanted to know how close I was. I let him know that I was only two and a half hours away and would look forward to meeting him. I am hoping to hear back from him so we can get a dialogue going. Being a pastor on the east coast may have some distinct advantages after all.

Pennsylvania Report-February 2007

Well winter has really settled in, so we haven’t been doing much organized outreaching but we continue to do personal witnessing. The couple who moved up from Atlanta, Ga had a baby boy around the middle of January and all are doing fine. They still are looking to receive the Holy Spirit and we look forward to them coming back to regular meetings soons. I have been in regular contact with Tammy while she  has been in Delaware visiting her mom who has been diagnosed with cancer. Its been difficult for her but she knows all the prayers of the saints are with her and her mother. We are constantly praying not only for Anna’s physical healing but also for her spiritual healing. Anna started her Chemotheoropy and has come through her first set of treatments remarkably well, so we know the Lord is working there. Also I made contact with the niece of  Derek and Jean, who are from the Adelaide assemby. Elaine and her family live in Pa, a bit south of Harrisburg. The family suffered a loss last year with the passing away of Elaine’s father and her mother’s health has been failing, so they are taking her in to live with them. I let her know that we would be praying for the whole family and Elaine mentioned that at some point she would like to get up to a meeting. Do keep them in your prayers. Finally, we had visitors from the Wollongong assembly, Jacob and Michelle Riggs. They were over visiting family in the New York area and came over to a Wednesday meeting. We enjoyed both of their testimonies and had some coffee and fellowship with them after the meeting before they headed back to New York. We are excited about being a stopping place for saints who plan to visit the eastern USA. Thats it for now but I am sure we will have even more exciting news next month.

Pennsylvania Report-January 2007

Greetings from all the PA saints. Happy New year to all! We’ve made it through another year and what a year it was. We saw many blessings this year along with many challenges. We were blessed with a new place to hold our meetings and the Lord really used it. We saw a few people get filled with the Holy Spirit and one person also got baptised and is still walking in the Lord. We’ve had a number of people walk in off the streets to come to a meeting and hopefully some of them will come back. To end the year on a very exciting note, a young Chinese family just started attending our meetings last month. They haver a little girl and another child due sometime this month. They have just moved from the Atlanta, GA area (sorry John that you didn’t get then before we did-smile) as the husband is doing an Internship at the major hospital hear where I also work. They had been attending a Pentacostsal church in Atlanta and when they arrived in the area, they went on the Internet to find a similar church in the Danville area, which led then to us. They live just down the street from the hall and are within walking distance. The wife started coming to meetings first as her husband’s schedule did not allow him to attend the meetings. He did come to the Sunday meeting on New Years eve. I had a chance to talk to them and they had both been baptized by full immersion. Even though they had been in an organization where people were obviously Spirit filled, people spoke out in tongues during meetings, and they said they even saw people receiving the Holy Spirit coming up out of the waters of baptism, speaking in tongues, they were told it was a side issue and that they didn’t really need to seek for it. How tragic! After I explained to them the proper use of the Spirit Gifts and that the Holy Ghost experience was available to whoever asked, they were surprised and happy that they could start praying to receive the Spirit. We are excitedly awaitng the possible addition of a new brother and sister in the Lord. What a way to start the New Year!
Reminder about East Coast Easter camp. For those planning to attend, make sure you get your camp form in before the end of February. Those around the Pennsylvania area contact Pastor Carlton if you need a camp form or have any questions. Others contact John Lawson in the Athens assembly.

Pennsylvania Report-December 2006

Greetings from all the PA saints. We continue to rejoice here and are thankful for the many blessings of the Lord. We did a presentation on Intelligent Design last month and did some outreaching beforehand to get the word out. We did get a couple of visitors to come to the presentation and one of them has been coming to meetings since then. Others we spoke to during the outreach expressed some interest in wanting to come to a regular meeting, so we keep praying that they will come. The Tharps spent Thanksgiving day with Chris and Nikki Gaudreau and some of Nikki’s relatives. It was a good day and we had some good fellowship and prayer later in the day. Well that’s it for now but looking for more exciting things to happen before the year ends.

Pennsylvania Report-November 2006

Greetings from all the PA saints. The weather here is starting to cool off but the Holy Spirit hasn’t. We are doing lots of personal witnessing and a couple of new people came to a Wednesday night meeting. The gentlemen said he had walked past the hall number of times and this one night he and his wife, Melisa, deciided to come in. It just so happens that the young lady was someone that our sister Nikki had gone to school with and she hadn’t seen her for a number of years. Nikki was able to give her testimony that night and talk to her a bit after the meeting. They both said they enjoyed the meeting and would come back. Unfortunately there was a death in Melisa’s family a few days after and we are keeping her and her family in our prayers. We had our prayer and fast and as usual it was a great time of ministry. Next month we will be doing a presentation on Intelligent Design and will do some outreaching before hand. We are looking to get a few people to attend and hopefully get some good contacts. Please keep it in your prayers.

Pennsylvania Report-October 2006

Greetings from all the PA saints. The past month was a bit quiet but we continue to rejoice in the Lord. We contnue to get the Gospel out and encourage our new brethren. Some new people have serious needs and we are constanly in prayer looking for the victories. The highlight of the past month was the fall camp in Fresno. It was awesome! Four of us from PA were able to go and we all had a great time. Our small group was able to contribute some items as part of the weekend activities. Many people I spoke to remarked on how much they got out of it camp. We are looking to take the excitement from camp and use it fully as we serve the Lord. We have a prayer and fast coming up this month, so we expect great things to happen.

Pennsylvania Report-September 2006

Greetings from all the PA saints. We are forever rejoicing in the Lord and in the service he called us into. We didn’t have any organized outreaches but we continue to have witnessing opportunities. A lady who has been coming to meetings for about a month was filled with the Holy Spirit. She had been baptised before with another organization but hadn’t received the Spirit. She has a few issues but we are looking for a great victory. Praise the Lord! We had our bi-monthly prayer and fast and the theme was “Forget not all the benefits”. It was really exciting times, as prayer and fast always are. Brother Chris and I gave talks and we both were thinking along the same lines. Chris gave his talk first and thought that I would have to change mine because it sounded like the talk I was going to give. It’s great when that happens because you know the Lord is trying to make a point. At the end of the month we had a campfire night where we roasted hotdogs and marshmellows. The fellowship was great. Those of us who are going are looking forward to the Fresno camp and seeing all the brother and sisters.

PA Report – Aug. 2006

This past month has been another great month in the Lord. We have gotten over the flood and continue to rejoice in the Lord. We continue to see new people come to meetings. They have come to a meeting because either they saw our sign on the window or someone told them about the new church that just opened up on Mill St. Most haven’t come back after their first meeting but we do have a few stayers. A couple who was spoken to back in May are still coming to meetings. They haven’t received the Holy Spirit yet but we keep praying that the Lord will have the opportunity to work in their lives. Another lady that I met outside of the hall awhile back has started to come to meetings. She has a few issues and for weeks she would show up before the Wednesday or Sunday meeting and we would have some interesting conversations about God but she wouldn’t stay for a meeting. She actually came to a Sunday meeting a couple of weeks ago and brought another lady with her. During lunch after the meeting, we had a chance to talk to the second lady and she was horrified to find out that because she didn’t have the Holy Spirit she wasn’t saved. Her exact words were: “I don’t want to walk around my living room thinking that I’m going to hell”. She told us to show her in the Bible what it said about the Holy Spirit and salvation and of course we were happy to oblige her. After showing her scriptures, we told her she could be filled with the Holy Spirit then and there and not have to worry about going to hell. We prayed with her and in a very short time she received the Holy Spirit. The amazing thing was that when she spoke in tongues, it was not stammering but very fluent. After we stopped praying, her words were: “I’ve got it”. We are now trying to make arrangements to baptize her as we don’t have a baptism tank yet. Please keep her and the lady who brought her along in your prayers, as they both have some issues they need to work through and we are looking for great victories. Also Pastor John Joske and his wife, Amanda, from the Gold Coast Assembly were with us July 29th and July 30th. They were here in America vacationing and while they were on the east coast, dropped in to pay us a visit. We had a fellowship BBQ that Saturday evening and Pastor John brought the talk on Sunday. It was a great way to end a great month!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Carlton
