NOW Is the Day of Salvation

Pastor Ward

By Pastor Ward (listen)

Meeting in progress…

Acts 2

  • 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
  • 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  • 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
  • 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
  • 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Matthew 4

  • 1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
  • 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
  • 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
  • 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

  • 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
  • 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Exodus 5

  • 20 And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:
  • 21 And they said unto them, The Lord look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
  • 22 And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
  • 23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

Acts 15

  • 29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
  • 30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
  • 31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
  • 32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

Acts 13

  • 50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
  • 51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
  • 52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

Prayer and Fast Talks

2 Timothy 2 (King James Version)

  • 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Psalm 73: The End of the Wicked

By Pastor Ward (listen)

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. 2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. 3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. 5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. 6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. 7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. 8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. 9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. 10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. 11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. 13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. 14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

Crosby woman survives Qantas air drama (Jul 31 2008)

by Lloyd Jones, Crosby Herald

A CROSBY woman has spoken of her “miracle” survival on board the Qantas jumbo jet forced into an emergency landing in the Philippines on Friday.

Jenny Nugent was sitting near the wing of the Boeing 747 where a hole the size of a car appeared while flying at 29,000ft.

The pilot was forced to drop quickly to 10,000ft as the cabin de-pressurised. The flight, en route from London to Melbourne, Australia, then redirected to Manila for an emergency landing.

Jenny, 20, from Moor Lane, said: “I saw bits of paper getting sucked out of the side of the plane by our seats.

“We were by the wing where the hole was, about four rows back I think, so when the wind came through, small things were drawn to us.

“It was then that I saw that a window or a door had a hole in it. I thought it was only a small hole, because I imagined seats would have been sucked out if it was any bigger.

“Then the oxygen masks came down and they were not working.”

Jenny, who is a manager at McDonald’s, in Netherton, was travelling with friends for a holiday in Australia.

She said: “We started to descend very, very quickly. The pilot only told us very small amounts of information, which was good, but it was enough to keep us satisfied.

“Then we started dumping fuel in the ocean. We couldn’t see any land where we could go down – only ocean.”

Jenny, a born again Christian, who attends Liverpool Revival Fellowship church, in Netherton, began praying when she realised something was wrong, and believes God brought the plane down safely.

She said: “In hindsight it was obviously a very bad situation but I stayed calm throughout – mainly because I was praying with my oxygen mask on!

“I prayed for ages because the plane seem to take a weirdly long time to land.

“When we landed at Manila aiport, I saw a fire engine and an ambulance – only one for 346 passengers – and there were lots of airport staff staring at the plane.

“We just waved and assumed there must be something wrong because they were all pointing. When we got off the plane we went around to the lounge and saw the hole. That’s when we realised what had happened.

“It was a miracle that we survived. We asked one of the air hostesses if anything like that had happened before. She said that in 1994 passengers were sucked out of a plane when something similar happened. God clearly had his hand on us to keep us safe through that.

“Apparently there had been a small explosion in the cockpit and the pilot had lost all his lights and his autopilot – I’m in no doubt that God was helping him too.

“Qantas have been very good. I’ll definitely be flying with them again. It was an accident but they have done everything for us. They gave us money at Melbourne airport for emergency clothes and they are going to give us a refund and new flights.”
